Fire Stop Blocks are made from high density stone wool.
Fire Stop Blocks are push fitted into place; they must fit tightly and completely. Dovetail fire stops are supplied as rectangular blocks, which are pinch fitted into the profile, then pushed into place.
Incorporated into the building during construction, they are used to seal apertures and are permanently held in place by compression. They can also be used within metal cladding as a fire break and to protect the top flange of steel beams.
They have a minimum block length of 50mm and do not require mastic or sealant application.
Fire stop blocks offer an increased fire resistance dependent on the length of the fire stop. For example a Fire Stop Block of 75mm x 75m will offer up to 120 minutes fire resistance.
